CARLSBAD OCEANSIDE ART LEAGUE –

Last week I was notified by Howard Bagley, President of the Carlsbad Oceanside Art League (COAL) that my February oil painting had received the Judges “Honorable Mention” Award! Here it is for all the world to see!

Naturally, I was overjoyed and in a mild state of shock. It never occurred to me that I would have my oil paintings taken seriously, especially by connoisseurs! H’m, did that mean I had gone from an amateur status to that of professional? The answer to that is mixed and the subject of another article.

In the interim, I was going to enjoy this new-found status and share it with my family, friends and colleagues. I gleefully notified them of the upcoming Reception at the Art Gallery, which was open to the public and free of charge.
